What happens to my Food Waste after collection?

All Food Waste collected by Urbaser is taken to a Anaerobic Digestion (AD) facility for treatment. In these facilities, the food waste is broken down using micro-organisms to produce renewable energy to power local homes businesses, as well as creating a biological fertiliser for use in the UK farming industry.

Urbaser does everything within its power to prevent any waste we collect going into landfill.
